I am originally from Wales. I came to Canada in 2012, to make a new home for my wife and I. My love and passion for food started with my grandmother when I was very young, watching her cook. She encouraged me to help with making Welsh cookies and scones with her at home and the love of cooking was ignited.
As I grew older my interest to learn more about cooking developed into my first full-time job at a 5 star hotel in the UK. Over the next 8 years working at the hotel, I was able to advance to the position of senior sous chef.
When I moved to Canada I secured my first full time position in Canada working at Harvest Crossing in Tillsonburg as the Director of Culinary for the retirement community. It is a rewarding experience to deliver amazing meals to our residents, with the help of a great culinary team at Harvest Crossing. We are fortunate to have local farms near by allowing us to purchase fruits and vegetables in season fresh from the farms. As I continue in my quest of cooking great food, I realize it is important to learn new techniques and continually improve, therefore I am always trying to be a better chef.
