As I was born and raised in England, I ate mostly meat and potatoes, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash … very English! My sister and I had the opportunity to fly to the British Channel Island of Jersey to visit our uncle. It was while there that we had the opportunity to go to a “fancy” restaurant. I ordered Duck l’orange as it seemed different and also at the age of 9 I thought “who eats a duck??” I still remember how crispy the skin was, combined with the delicious taste of the orange glaze. To this day it is still one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
