The Story of Carol Ann

I went into nursing as a mature student in my 30’s.
It was something of my own that I could do.
Nursing is a very useful profession!
Because you can keep on at nursing no matter what happens.

My reason for going back to school was that I did not want an office job.
I wanted to be a nurse & I wanted to do hands-on nursing.
I worked at West Park Hospital, old Tuberculosis Standard.
We started doing replacement therapy and I did care to heal the wounds.
I worked with the machines in units involving heart & lung care.
My favourite part of nursing was caring for the patients.
When they saw me walk in they would say “Oh good!”
And that made me happy to hear.
